DABA "Downtown in Full Swing" Artist and Sponsor Dinner supported by Auburn Main Street
Why is this so important to our community? What problems does this help with in our community?
First, having art in our community is all about making the experience so very special to those who visit. It adds creativity, highlights our local artists, and brings tourism to our community.
Second, we use this project to give back to the community in several ways. A. The funds are used to by purchase and maintain the flowers you see in downtown. I think we can all agree that our town is so beautiful due to the flowers along the streets. B. The funds go to support the Christmas Parade. C. The funds are also used to support our beloved lighted Frosty. This helps with his storage, maintenance, arrival, and departure.
DABA started the art walk many years ago and it still continues today with "Downtown in Full Swing". 16 local artists completed their artistic touch on the swings placed around town to be viewed. On Monday, we had an artist and sponsor reception at Byler Lane Winery catered by the Deli at 6th and Main.
The Swings are on a brace and are able to be hung to by the new owners at the end of the season. They will be up for the Summer, they will be auctioned through a bid process with a QR Code, and other fun items will also be available to bid on such as the Lighting of Frosty among others.
Be sure to step out to Downtown Historic Auburn, grab your brochure from a local business, and vote for your favorite. You are sure to enjoy these beauties.
Biggest Complement
It is always fun to visit Downtown Auburn each year to tour the Art Walk. We make it a tradition each year to visit.
