Classic City Readers: I Am Half-Sick of Shadows

Classic City Readers is a longstanding book club dedicated to the appreciation and examination of the written word. Join Darcy on the third Wednesday of every month in the Close Community Room< from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, for a thoughtful and interesting literary discussion. Library cards are not required to check out the books for this book club. Just stop by the desk on the Main Level of the library to pick up a copy of the current title. On December 16th, we'll discuss I Am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley. Description of I Am Half-Sick of Shadows from Penguin Random House: It’s Christmastime, and Flavia de Luce—an eleven-year-old sleuth with a passion for chemistry—is tucked away in her laboratory, whipping up a concoction to ensnare Saint Nick. But she is soon distracted when a film crew arrives at Buckshaw, the de Luces’ decaying English estate, to shoot a movie starring the famed Phyllis Wyvern.
