Throwback Thursdays
Description
In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of The Declaration of Independence, join us for a discussion of Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-winning historian David McCollough's 1776. Patrons will have two opportunities for what should prove to be thought-provoking conversations: Saturday, June 27 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm | Assembly Room at Main Library Tuesday, June 30 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm | Genealogy Research Room at Genealogy Center How are we similar or different to the men and women of 1776? How have we defined what it means to be American in the years since? What have we done with the legacy the founders left to us? These are just a few of the questions we can address during our discussion sessions. Books will be available to borrow at the main desk at Eckhart Public Library by mid-May, or patrons may place them on hold through Evergreen, Libby, or Hoopla. When Dinosaurs Ruled...the Library, our 2026 Summer READ. DO. EXPLORE. program, runs from May 26th through July 5th. Find more information and the entry form for prizes here.
