Wonder Crew
Description
The first and third Friday of every month is tween time at Eckhart Public Library. Wonder Crew is a program for kids in grades 4-6 (ages 9-12) who are interested in creating things, expressing themselves, and just plain having fun. The Wonder Crew sessions below will meet in the Activity Room (unless otherwise noted) from 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
Upcoming Schedule:
June 5: Soap It! Make a mini custom soap with a dino-tastic surprise inside!
June 19: Grave Symbolism! See what cool information we can unearth about the dearly departed with a walking trip to Old Auburn Cemetery. We'll also have a lesson and activity about cemetery history and tombstone symbolism. We'll meet in the Library Park at 4:00 pm and walk to the cemetery at 4:15 pm. Old Auburn Cemetery is located on the 1200 block of South Union Street.
July 3: Declare Independence! Let's talk about the Declaration of Independence. It was published 250 years ago this month! We'll learn what it meant then and discuss what it means to us today. You can also write your own Declaration of Independence and make some firework-worthy art (No actual fireworks will be used.).
July 17: Zombies! Do you have what it takes to survive the zombie outbreak? Work together to gather supplies you need to survive while avoiding zombies. This session will take place in both the Activity Room and the Library Park.
When Dinosaurs Ruled...the Library, our 2026 Summer READ. DO. EXPLORE. program, runs from May 26th through July 5th. Find more information and the entry form for prizes here.
